What are you doing for the 4th of July?

Honor the Red, White and Blue with Red, White and Brew … Red, White and Boom … Red, White, and Pabst Blue Ribbon. There are all kinds of ways to celebrate our independence and do a little indepen-dance in Charlotte, but below are the Brittney After Dark party picks, as in pick of party.

Britt’s pick …

Inaugural Queen City Hot Dog Eating Contest. There’s just something about shoving wieners in your mouth at a rapid rate that sounds fun … and to benefit the troops no less. Friday, July 3 at Alley Cat - $2 door donation that includes one free hotdog and there’s a $1000 cash prize to whoever can inhale the most wieners.

Jackalope Jack’s and Philospher’s Stone Dog Day Afternoon Summer Parking Lot Party

Saturday, July 4 2 – 8 p.m. It’s BYOP (Bring Your Own Pooch) and there will be 3 bands, a duck tank, dog pools, and free shit. Not to mention a free Cornhole Tourney and Bar Pong Tourney

And right down the road is the 9th annual Pig Pickin at the Penguin with music from the Belmont Playboys, The Needles, The Dead Kings, M4 Messenger, and the Black Lashes.

Red Rocks, Whitewater & Blue Grass 4th of July Festival at The U.S. National Whitewater. Live Music, Food, Beer, Wine, Fireworks and activities for the whole family so you can play and party. The Festival starts at noon and fireworks at 9 p.m.
