Re: “Cavities beware: Sweet Tooth Festival tickets on sale

This is completely awesome and not really speaking of the cavity aspect... but for the ALS portion. I cared for a patient with ALS and loved her to pieces.... I will be there to support with bell on!

Re: “Green tea cupcakes

@Sarah: Seeing as how, 1) Priscilla is Asian, she's probably not getting her Asians mixed up. But more importantly, 2) Green Tea most definitely derives from China, though it quickly made its way throughout Asia and India. You might want to look more deeply into a topic before jumping to "correct" people.

Re: “Green tea cupcakes

Um...green tea is Japanese, not Chinese. You're getting your Asians mixed up.

Re: “Baked's Sweet and Salty Cake

I absolutely love this cake. It is definitely a pain, but worth the effort. It didn't look exactly like the picture, but the moist cake and salty kick are winners. I used a pastry bag in a swirl pattern to get the icing more even, and chilling the cakes a little helps a lot.

Re: “Baked's Sweet and Salty Cake

I am a very experienced baker and cook and I had the same issues with this cake. The caramel refuses to sink into the cake and is instead running out and down the sides of the cake. The frosting is not frosting. It's melted chocolate and also a complete nightmare. I followed the recipe to the LETTER and used the highest quality ingredients. So disappointed.

Re: “More information about Queen City Q

There's also an update on the changes in the plan for Queen City 'Que in the 7th Street Market. Helen Schwab has a blog about it here: http://helendining.blogspot.com/2011/12/mo…

Re: “I was just followed by Queen City Q

Queen City 'Que is the barbecue restaurant that's going into 7th Street Public Market. It's operated by Dan Huntley, a former Observer writer and author who currently has a barbecue food truck.

Just what the world needs, another casual place that uses beer as their leading menu item.

Re: “Fern, a new vegetarian restaurant, opens in Plaza Midwood

6-14 dollars is outrageous to you for a delicious meal? what planet do you live on? The food is excellent and wait staff is great.

Re: “Fern, a new vegetarian restaurant, opens in Plaza Midwood

What kind of closed minded person can't read descriptions to see that it's much more than just "a plate of veggies"? Someone that doesn't know food or how to cook, likely.

Re: “Fern, a new vegetarian restaurant, opens in Plaza Midwood

Me me me! I will pay these price for this amazing food. If you think it's *just a plate of veggies* you just are going to have to try it to be convinced.
