What you're describing sounds like a parasocial relationship. Kind of like what celebrities have to suffer, except when they complain...no one will sympathize. @nowhereman is correct in that it's not gender-specific.
Anytime someone becomes overly involved in your personal life without invite, it's creepy.

i'd say the same goes for girls too. don't be "that girl" either.

Trying out for Pepper Potts' job, Des?
Grassroots organizing? Some of the groups that have organized against fracking like frackfreenc.org should be pushing alternative energy sources. Also, solar energy is a good idea for a NC startup. Talk to the guys at http://cltjoules.com/ :) , they're trying to facilitate this.
Good luck getting it by the Conservatives who are now in control of the State Government. They will vote unanimously against any energy generation that is not powered by their big donors who produce fossil fuels.
I took the Crescent Line from ATL to NOLA on my 30th birthday. We played cards with strangers and drank from the bottles of liquor we were allowed to bring onboard. An acoustic guitar player boarded in Alabama, along with a singer and they played our little party car all the way to its destination. It was magical.
Har, har, Eric! HAHAHA It is hypnotizing, I'll give you that! ;)
And here I was thinking it had something to do with the vibration of the clickity clackity tracks and the hum of the desiel-electric engine.
Thanks for your feedback about the Kure Beach *area, y'all. Keep the comments coming!
OK, so Carolina Beach is 20 minutes away, and you ate at Dixie Grill (which is downtown WILMINGTON), and Cape Fear Seafood, which is MONKEY JUNCTION. I think a map might be in order. There are plenty of great places on the island, for fresh seafood and, yes, even fruit. A couple are mentioned above. But if Dixie Grill is the best breakfast you have had in a long time, I would re-assess your statement that you are spoiled in Charlotte...
@Alice- I did take the long, slow, beach/boardwalk route so perhaps that's how? Just my experience! :) -Desiree
I live in Carolina beach and it is more like 1 min away from Kure. It is really just one island. The only thing that differentiates between the two is a sign. I don't know how you figure its 20 min away.
The Veggie Wagon is awesome as well. Yummy fresh fruits and specialty items. Love it.
Surf House restaurant in Carolina Beach has great breakfast and lunch that use fresh ingredients. Salads, fruits, daily ceviche specials. It's the closest place to Kure Beach for fresh fruit, yogurt and healthy breakfast. Or unhealthy Hashbrowns, Bacon, etc.
Upset in North Meck: Sorry we upset you! The headline of the blog, written by the blog's editor, was meant to be lighthearted, not offensive in any way.

@Upset in North Meck: You must be kidding! Seriously. That bothered you? You're really that sensitive up there?
"trek up north"? Huntersvile? Seriously? To an area just south of River Run country club along a fairly major road? I know it's not exactly Dilworth or Meyers Park but could you be more condescending to the area north of 485? Heaven forbid you ever have to go to Mooresville or Statesville (neither or which I'd consider a "trek up north") or even North Wilkesboro.
Re: “Instacreeper! How not to be 'that guy' on social sites”
I'd say the same goes for civilizations. Don't be "that civilization" either.
