It funny you mentioned John Wayne hated High Noon. At the 1952 Academy Awards it was Wayne who accepted Gary Cooper's Oscar for that film. He also accepted statue for John Ford winning Best Director for his film The Quiet Man... I guess Wayne does live up to his reputation of being a moral hypocrite.
