Peep This: A 29-year-old man filed a police report after a restaurant meal came to him extra crunchy last week. The man was eating at Le Peep on Providence Road when he bit into his waffle and felt something hard break. The man spit out his food to find he had bitten into a piece of glass embedded in the waffle.
Tweetillating: An 18-year-old man called police after he was harassed online by someone he had been having problems with. The man told officers that the suspect hacked into his Twitter account and changed his profile picture to something sexual, then continued to tweet sexual pictures from the victim's feed.
Alternate Route: A woman whose day quickly went from bad to worse filed a police report last week. The woman told fire and police officials that she was taking her son to the hospital for an emergency when her car caught fire on the John Belk Freeway. Her entire 2005 Suzuki Verona lit up before the fire department could get there. That's one way to get medics to you ailing family member more quickly.
Boys and Toys: A woman went through one of the most embarrassing days of her life at her son's school last week. A student at Briarwood Academy Elementary School, the boy was found with a "soft plastic mold" of "an inappropriate object." (We're going to go out on a limb and guess it was a dildo.) The child's mother was called, and she admitted that the "toy" was hers and that her son was wrong for bringing it to school. Oops.
Double Jeopardy: Police found a residue-laced marijuana pipe in a man's house last week. The man claimed that it had been left there by his friends during a party. Where he went wrong was using the same excuse for the two marijuana plants growing in his backyard garden.
Turned Tables: A woman attempted to file a police report against her ex-boyfriend for theft last week but got caught up in her own web of lies. The woman said the man broke into her car and stole two suits that didn't belong to him. When police went to speak to the ex-boyfriend about the incident, he said that she had given him the suits when they were dating and that he has had them all along. He even proved one of the suits had been at the tailor when the alleged break-in happened. While police were at the ex-boyfriend's house, the woman called his phone. The ex-boyfriend put her on speaker, and the officers heard her threatening and harassing him. She was then charged.
