Gantt Symposium 2016 Featuring Anna Deavere Smith

Widely acclaimed actress and playwright known for her reoccurring roles in “The West Wing” and “Nurse Jackie,” Anna Deavere Smith will perform her one-woman show, “Snapshots: Portraits of a World in Transition.” Smith portrays a multitude of characters, all inspired by the people she interviewed during the course of her presentation. Throughout the past several years, Smith has travelled the nation gathering stories and interviewing people from different backgrounds as a means to “absorb America,” a concept created by Walt Whitman. Smith brings her interview notes to life as she performs on stage.
