The Deal: Pantera/Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul, Mudvayne's singer Chad Grey and guitarist Greg Tribbett and Nothingface's guitarist Tom Maxwell and bassist Jerry Montano join forces for metal supergroup.

The Good: Right off the bat, it's great to see Paul returning from a two-year hiatus to make music after the death of his brother "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. The album opens up with the heavy rockin' Southern metal anthem "Hellyeah." (They need to think of more names.) Thunderous drumming, chugging guitars, raspy vocal yawps -- it's about what you'd expect.

The Bad: You have to give them credit for getting together, but they could have come up with a better name/album title/song title. The band claims it represents the no-holds-barred spirit of the group. I hate to say it borders on cheesy, but there are moments of silliness. When you name your group, album and first single all "Hellyeah," it says a lot. Sometimes, the band tries too hard to find an anthem.

The Verdict: It's metal, but Grey's vocals make it sound a lot like Mudvayne. With song titles like "Hellyeah," "Goddamn" and "Alcahaulin' Ass," I don't think they're trying to make music history. It's a solid metal effort by some of the scene's best, but it's not better than their individual/previous acts.
