Horoscope for April 14-April 20, 2010

Aries The Ram (March 20-April 19):

On the 14th you are presented with the new moon in your sign. It represents the purest of new beginnings, the planting of new crops in your life. You may initiate several ideas at this time that will require cultivation and care before you know which ones will emerge as tallest and strongest.

For All Signs: Mercury, the planet that rules communications, common business practice and travel, turns retrograde on April 18 and will remain so until May 11. For most purposes, consider it retrograde now. During this period it is best to avoid finalizing major decisions or signing contractual agreements. Seemingly good ideas are often discovered later to have flaws or missing information. The cycle is most beneficially used to complete old plans, gather information on proposed ideas, and reflect on past progress.

Taurus: See the lead paragraph because the retrograding Mercury is firmly in your sign. You likely thought you were headed in one direction, but now things are looking a bit different, even confusing you. Hesitate, yes, and rethink your plans.

Gemini: Memories from your life history may surface for examination for a month or so. It is possible you may have a greater than normal need to reflect, to write, and otherwise give attention to your inner self. Avoid the temptation to obsess.

Cancer: If you have old personal issues on the topic of sharing, they may be ticked on this week. If you are upset with your partner there may be a resentment from your past that is creeping into the scenario. Look at this and determine if you are overreacting because of old damage.

Leo: This is a fine week to kick back and take your time on everything. You may have a need for a bit of escapism. See a good movie or travelogue. Professionals whom you consult this week will offer reasonably good advice, but it won't be the final word while Mercury is retrograde.

Virgo: Your ruling planet is changing directions in the territory which deals with education, publishing, travel, public speaking, the law and philosophy. Therefore any of these activities are subject to shifts, changes or sudden deceleration due to changes of information. Maybe the right solution just is not available yet.

Libra: This week is one in which you may be struggling with others over issues of debt, insurance, alimony or inheritance. Issues that have been brewing for a while in relationship(s) are coming to a turning point. You and another may be vying for emotional control.

Scorpio: It is necessary that you give attention to an issue of control that threatens to split one or more of your relationships. You may be attempting to get what you want through manipulation. Don't pursue this and don't let someone do it to you.

Sagittarius: You are in an especially cordial frame of mind at this time and likely to invite people to your home, or to share whatever you have to offer. Your spirits are high and you have a need to be social. You are interested in whatever feels luxurious, looks beautiful, or tickles the senses.

Capricorn: There may be a crisis with your children or a lover this week. There are elements of obsessive thinking and criticism involved. Be intentional about keeping an open mind and don't insist on a black and white answer. Ultimately this situation is about necessary change and growth.

Aquarius: Please note the lead paragraph about Mercury retrograde. The area of focus is related to property, family and issues of security. You are likely reworking things in one of these territories. Family members may be erratic or hard to pin down, making it difficult to conclude open agendas.

Pisces: This is a week of opportunity. It appears the financial picture is looking up. Meanwhile activities involving sharing, educating and speaking bring favorable rewards. An opportunity for a contract comes your way. If the issue is one you have previously considered, recall why you did not do it.
