Iron Sky

At the close of World War II, many Nazis didn't evade capture just by fleeing to South America; many opted instead to flee to the moon. That's the premise behind Iron Sky, a Finnish feature that's being brought to town for a one-time showing thanks to a partnership between the film's producers, distributor Tugg.com and our own hometown heroes, Back Alley Film Series. Set in 2018, the plot posits that, after decades of constructing a space fortress and a fleet of flying saucers while hidden from Earth's view on the dark side of the moon, the Third Reich — make that the Fourth Reich — now begins its invasion of our planet. Incidentally, the president of the United States is played by an actress (Stephanie Paul) who's made up to look just like Sarah Palin — which of course makes this the most fantastical element of the entire movie.
