It's all about the meat

A bunch of steak houses set to open

Now Open

• Owner Cythnia Ji and her aunt Kellen Ji have opened Cho Won Garden Korean Barbecue & Cuisine (2501 Crown Point Executive Drive). Hours: 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m., 5 p.m. until 11 p.m. Monday through Friday; 11:30 a.m. until 11 p.m. Saturday; Sunday 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. They specialize in Korean-styled barbecue: customers grill their own meat at the table ($21.95 per person). Other entrées range from $10 to $35.

Small bites

Monty's Bar & Grill, (15205 John J. Delaney Drive in Ballantyne) is now open for Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

• Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Chima Brazilian Steakhouse is slotted to open late summer/early fall in The Trust building at 139 S. Tryon St. This will be Charlotte's third all-you-can-eat Brazilian eatery (only one is currently open), but this one is high-end. Owner Bruno Silva opened his first restaurant in Uberlandia, Brazil and now has locations in Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Tyson Corners, Va.

• Two more steak houses slated to open Uptown: Fleming Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, with more than 50 locations nationally, is set to open in September in the EpiCentre on the corner of Trade and College. Later, another location of Chef Laurent Tourondel's BLT Steak (love their popovers) will open in the Ritz Carlton, also on the corner of Trade and College.
