New Frequencies at McColl Center / Music: Lonnie Holley

Lonnie Holley is a visual artist and musician based in Atlanta. His art and music, born out of struggle, hardship, but perhaps more importantly, out of furious curiosity and biological necessity, has manifested itself in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, performance, and sound. His music and lyrics are improvised on the spot, and morph and evolve with every performance. Holley performs regularly across Europe and the United States, including most recently with Bon Iver in Brooklyn, and was part of the Blues for Smoke exhibition in 2013 at the Whitney Museum of American Art. Cellist Ben Sollee joins Holley this evening.
