Pink Soles, benefitting Susan G. Komen for the Cure

Most little girls will tell you their favorite color is pink. That color has been synonymous with the fight against breast cancer for years, and with fashion for even longer. It's no surprise that lately there have been a number of events in the Queen City geared toward breast cancer awareness, but here's one that's really doing it in style.

On Nov. 4, Pink Soles, an event benefitting Susan G. Komen for the Cure, will take place at the new Foundation for the Carolinas building in Uptown. The event will be hosted by Janine Davis of Fox News Edge and founder of the Girl Talk Foundation and will include a fashion show featuring some of Charlotte's local boutiques. In addition, the "Shades of Pink" portion of the fashion show will highlight original pieces created by local designers like Miikelle Fowler and Odelia Rouse. Guests will enjoy hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, raffle prizes, a live performance by R&B recording artist Amanda Pollard and more. $25-$45. To find out more information, log on to www.pinksoles.org.
