Salmon Fishing In The Yemen

A sheikh's vision of salmon fishing in Yemen leads British consultant Alfred "Fred" Jones (Ewan McGregor) to the desert for a tedious task. Introducing a species of fish is an environmental risk, and the region is already tensed by looming political violence. Along the way, Jones encounters Harriet Chetwode-Talbot (Emily Blunt), who he hopes to romance into leaving her already MIA boyfriend. Forget about seeing Yemeni scenery, though. The film was shot in parts of London, Scotland, and Morocco. Salmon Fishing In The Yemen premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival and was directed by Lasse Hallström.
