OK, it's entirely possible that when you saw Sister Act at a local cineplex, you didn't think the Whoopi Goldberg star vehicle needed more oomph, music and pizzazz. Well, ready or not, Whoopi hopped over to the production side, and the Broadway musical adaptation has all of that — and the hot touring show is heading to Ovens Auditorium for an eight-show run, January 8-13. Once again, wannabe diva Deloris Van Cartier is a key witness to a crime, and once again, the cops stash her in the last place you'd ordinarily look for her, a convent. This can't possibly work out, can it? The answer is a righteous gospel with enough bright colors to almost put stained glass to shame.
