The Storied South: Voices of Writers and Artists Author, scholar and renowned folklorist William Ferris has been working to document and preserve Southern culture for nearly fifty years. Carolina Harbor Carowinds’ new 25-acre water park extension features jaw-dropping slides and a wave pool that mimics the motion of the Atlantic Ocean. The expansion is a 40 percent larger upgrade from the amusement park’s previous water park element, Boomerang Bay. New at Carowinds this summer.
