#hashtaghungry: SABOR Latino, 4th annual University Taste, more

Each week, The Social Eater picks a handful of filter-friendly, tweetable, social media-shareable foodie events in and around the city. No #struggleplates allowed.

• Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! On Thursday, the Latin American Women's Association hosts SABOR Latino, where chef Julian Grajales will create authentic Colombian, Mexican and Peruvian dishes for your sampling. To purchase tickets, call 704-552-1003 with your credit card information.
$25-$30. Sept. 25, 6:30-9 p.m.
Mint Museum Randolph, 2730 Randolph Road.

• Pumpkin beers, woohoo! I know that's how a lot of you reacted when you saw your favorite bars starting to offer pumpkin ales last month. (My own boyfriend bought two cases of the first pumpkin ale he saw in the grocery stores and is hoarding them.) For you, then, Heist looks at pumpkin-inspired brews in this month's Flight School, a monthly series showcasing experimental flights. Enjoy a Sweet Potato Cream Ale, a Pumpkin Amber Ale, a Belgian Pumpkin Ale, a Pumpkin Stout and an Imperial Pumpkin Ale.
$7 per flight. Sept. 25, 7 p.m.
Heist Brewery, 2909 N. Davidson St.
More info here.

• I know, I know — University seems like another world for you Center City and south Charlotte kids. That's why the 4th Annual University Taste is one you should put on your calendar. In one evening, sample bites from Boardwalk Billy's Raw Bar and Ribs, Ciro's Italian Restaurant, Firewater, House of Leng, Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant, Love Sushi, The Wine Vault, Zapata's Mexican Restaurant and more.
$10-$15. Sept. 25, 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m.
The Shoppes at University Place, 8929 J.M. Keynes Drive
More info here.

• Fight the good food fight with fellow foodies and other creatives and attend this 48-hour FoodThink UnConference, hosted by Queen City Forward.
$45-$60.
Packard Place, 222 S Church St.
More info here.

• The magic words to this next event, Evening of Chocolate: Autumn Comfort, are "three-course dessert dinner." The folks at The Secret Chocolatier know how to make our mouths water already, with their delectable delights for sale, but when they use words like "poached pears, creme anglaise, caramel apple cakes, dark chocolate cakes with a secret oatmeal raisin white chocolate orange," we get weak in the knees.
$50 for table for two. Sept. 27, 8 p.m.
The Secret Chocolatier, 2935 Providence Road, Ste. 104.
Call 704-323-8178 to reserve. More info here.

Charlotte Oktoberfest. Nuff said.
$45-$65. Sept. 27, 12:30-6 p.m.
Visit the website for more information.
