Re: “Unfinished Women Cry in No Man's Land While a Bird Dies in a Gilded Cage

Attended this performance last night. It was lovely and disturbing. There was so much talent on many fronts. live jazz, rich dialogue and intense stories and reflections, sometimes they broke out into singing or should I say mild groaning; I guess a little of both. Worth seeing, just go with it.

Re: “NoDa Eclectic Marketplace at the Neighborhood Theatre

WOW, loved it! There was a little bit of everything here -- jewelry, crafts, vintage finds, eclectic clothing, artists galore, and gourmet and specialty products! this was unlike any market I'd come across -- sort of half craft show, half art show, and I got to hook up with the best artistic crowd to boot! Will definitely revisit OFTEN!!

Re: “Rave Trivia

Rave trivia is absolute shit. Poor explanations of rounds and scoring and the emcee, Rob, is a complete dick. Will be watching his calendar to avoid the venues he's in. Poor choice for reputable businesses.

Re: “Semantics, Semiotics, & The Second Amendment

Anta Overcash - guns may be used by people, however they are not doing any of the violence as they cannot function alone. I'm questioning what caused the deaths in cases like the loss of the Titanic - a boat - an iceberg in your opinion ? Who's been blaming cars and trucks for traffic fatalities, or gas chambers for death camp slaughters - have you ? Let "art" be it's own propaganda. Write something sensible instead in a country where we murder millions of children annually.

Re: “Molotov

This may not be tagged correctly. "Blues/Roots/International" is not very accurate. It is a crazy hardcore Mexican rock band with a ton of vulgar lyrics, but many songs do have a message to convey. I almost assimilate them to a Mexican Rage Against The Machine. I've seen them plenty of times, and I will be going to this. I just want everyone to know what they're getting into. Look them up on the youtube if you need more clarification. :)

Re: “Alvvays, Absolutely Free, Late Bloomer

As a huge fan, I would describe Alvvays as a more psychedelic version of (and this has nothing at all to do with Molly's hair) early Blondie...and if you can't dig that you can't dig nothin'. They're the best new band to come down the pike in many a moon and the first album I just couldn't stop playing since EAT TO THE BEAT. Don't miss.

Re: “Moving Poets' From the Depths

Wonderful show which is combination of modern dance, music, art and acting. The work "DeProfundis" depicts Wilde reciting parts of this long letter which was written while he was in prison. "Usually Strange" is original piece created by Sarah Emery and Til Schmidit-Rimpler which has excellent choreography and dance performances which depict Wilde's spiritual journey through his trials which were a counterpoint to his early philosophy of pleasure. "Moving Poets" has been back in Charlotte for it's second year and hopefully will be able to continue to provide Charlotte with more of this unique arts experience in the future.
