Re: “Checking in after Charlotte unrest, and not on Facebook

High praise for this article from a former student of yours Charles. In any circumstance such as this I, like many others, can become distant due to the actions not happening directly to me or people like me, a white male in America. But what you said about how Martha was praying specifically for someone she knew(You) that could be affected or even is affected by the current circumstances of the country, I am brought to a familiar place. Now I don't love all black people, nor do I love all white people or any other people because I simply don't know them all. But knowing I have several brown and black friends whom I love like brothers, I am hit with a realization that I need to pray and put out a helping hand for not only them, but people alike.

Racism, institutionalized or personal, tends to become a reflection of how we see a certain group people. And that often times becomes null when we grow close to individuals. That's been the case with me. I know some great black and brown individuals and that to me is enough to know that no group is all this or that: black or white. Cheers!

Re: “Live review: Heart, PNC Music Pavilion (9/16/2016)

The bands were good and did their part of making a good show. I was annoyed by the patrons (I as on the lawn) who stood and talked loudly during the whole Heart set. They were oblivious to how annoying they were being, and it was more than one or 2 groups.

Re: “Recent legislation restricting access to body camera footage renders them moot

Banning the public from access to police footage "promotes transparency"? Really, Pat??--and how exactly are you prepared to prove that? Once again, our so-called governor demonstrates that he is working from a completely different dictionary than the ones we learned to use in school. In PatLand, apparently, war is peace, freedom is slavery, and ignorance (of citizens) is strength (of NC GOP and its tools, including the NCGA majority and the elements purportedly sworn to "protect and serve" those both in and out of power).

Best HOT Jalepeno there is. Not soggy with no heat like most junk stores sell! Vlasic has perfected the hot jalepeno. Will not buy anything else.

Re: “Death of Charlotte biker brings cycling community together

I've came across this Article because a few nights ago me & my mother saw a ghostly shadow like figure in the sugar creek area around 11 o clock pm the figure was on a bike (with no reflection from our lights you could not see the rims or any features of the figure) riding along side a train where they are currently doing construction. The figure rode along the drivers side where my mom was close to the car and disappeared (i didn't see it but she saw it and it frightened her) and reappeared in the middle of the passing train.. rode alongside and disappeared again. i was wondering if the person died on the tracks but i found not articles relating to a cyclist or train death other than this article considering this man rode in that area it could've been this popular cyclist. I've heard if you keep a significant item of a person who died in a traumatic way they get trapped between worlds & wander. RIP to this gentleman i hope his spirit finds its way.

Re: “Cat People, Free State of Jones, Twin Peaks among new home entertainment titles

RIO BRAVO, with Dino and The Duke. EL DORADO and RIO LOBO are both fun, but RIO BRAVO is a masterpiece -- my favorite Western along with ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST and (if one considers it a Western) THE TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE.

Re: “NBC News releases footage of Keith Lamont Scott's shooting

Why would a man who's life has changed as a result of a tramatic brain injury have a gun that his family knows nothing about? Why would his wife keep telling him not to do it? Depression? Suicide by cop?

Re: “Rev. Robin Tanner hopes to reframe religion in the Bible Belt

You look 14 on TV. Your voice sounds like a 15 year old. Your views sound like my 16 year old granddaughter. Change your hairstyle to make you look your actual age. Get a voice coach to improve the sound. Think views through before speaking.

Haha. Amusingly, Wayne and Hawks made RIO BRAVO as a direct response to HIGH NOON. And I hate to say it, but I think RIO BRAVO blows HIGH NOON out of the water.

It funny you mentioned John Wayne hated High Noon. At the 1952 Academy Awards it was Wayne who accepted Gary Cooper's Oscar for that film. He also accepted statue for John Ford winning Best Director for his film The Quiet Man... I guess Wayne does live up to his reputation of being a moral hypocrite.

Re: “Older men, younger boys

The homophic people who post on here dont realise there showing the world how sick there thinking is. You have to feel bad for them as the reason they say these things is because that is how they where rasised or because of there bad exsperences with others. The people who are the most outspoken againest homosexuality are that way because of there own gay feelings which they may not even realilise be cause they suppressed them All the wise cracks and insaults and violence is there way of dealing with there own hang ups. As we know many I mean thousands use to think the world was flat and that the earth was the center of the universe. The church made Galileo lie about it or get tortured and lots told Columbus he was crazy and was going to fall off the edge of the world. My point is that some take a lot longer to face facts When they where taught lies. And the people around them are not civilised or educated and still live by archaic thinking. hurting or forcing someone to have sex is bad no matter who you are or what sex you are or what age you are. judging Who someone else loves, well how many people say or think they need to get someone elses aproval before they love someone. Do you think any one who had a negitive remark on here first went and got approval from everyone before they made love to someone? Or did they get her drunk so they could take advantage of her? Like I seen so many guys do to younger girls while I was in the milatary over seas. Now there is a real problem to look at. And using Violence to make people do what you want them to do another huge problem. The good thing is the internet lets the nut jobs post so the rest of us can see just how sick they are. Gay love has been around for thousands of years. If some people didnt like it. It would of disappeared long ago. Why a person is so interested in other peoples sex life is a good question. And the ones who are hidding there real feelings and hating others because of there own mental problems they are a problem. They are the ones who should not be around children. peace

and for the homophic people who post on here. You have to feel bad for them there a produce of there poor up bringing. They dont even realise that by posting there archaic thinking there just proving to the world how sick they are. Remember the catholic insurrection where they made Galileo lie and say the earth was the center of the univere and the sun and planets revolved around the earth and Same with Columbus and those who said the earth was flat. They also thought they knew what they where talking about. And could not face reality. The ones who speak out the most againest honosexualily are the ones who most have gay feelings and most likely dont even know that is there problem. Even criminal insane people justify there actions. But not with reality or proven facts. These people are dangerious and should not be allowed around children. peace

Re: “Older men, younger boys

dear Dad. If you did a great job of raising you boy for The last 18 years You should have nothing to worry about. If not its kind of late to research now what to do. At 18 he could of very easy hide what he is doing. But looks like he isn't. And Dad does your father influence and judge your sex life? I was in Vietnam with other 18 year olds There where no parents in the combat Zone. Please make sure your supportive and there if he needs you. If you did your job as a parent im sure he will be fine. If he made a mistake he will really need you then. We all make mistakes just hope he is smart enough to be safe.

Re: “Live review: Heart, PNC Music Pavilion (9/16/2016)

I loved the concert. Every Band was AMAZING. Sure there was a few moments when it turned political but that was a few moments and Then it was all about the music. Parking is crazy and traffic a nightmare but totally worth it. I can say enough about how great the music was!!
