David Byrne, St Vincent

Tue., June 18

David Byrne, St Vincent DAVID BYRNE & ST. VINCENT In the years since the dissolution of the Talking Heads, David Byrne has been a prolific collaborator, cashing in on his well-deserved respect by pairing up with the likes of everyone from Brian Eno to Sharon Jones to Fatboy Slim. His 2012 release with St. Vincent, Love This Giant, was one of his best collaborations to date. Borrowing bombastic, rhythm-driven horns from hip-hop, the duo crafted a lively record, full of Byrne’s signature bizarro-pop. And, as is his fashion, Byrne made sure there was a thrilling live show to take on the road. Expect a stage jam-packed with musicians, stepping in time as they, say, toot a French horn. You’re not liable to see many shows like this in your lifetime.
