Two NC artists present a spectacular & intimate array of fiber and mixed media installations, unveiling personal stories. Each is a unique exploration of beautiful techniques, layered, stitched, sculpted, collaged, to create multi-dimensional art linking literacy with visual imagery. Opening Reception - Friday, May 30. With a deft hand for the miniature and a fair dose of wonder for life observed, Claire Harvey transforms everyday materials and witnessed subjects into fascinating microcosms. For her first solo museum show in the US at the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, Harvey has assembled an immersive installation completely on site entitled Into the Ordinary. Free

As part of SECCA’s solo series, Anthology explores three aspects of the conceptual artist Neil Goldberg’s ethos of incorporating life into art. Focusing on the fleeting, overlooked and personal aspects of daily experience and his studio practice, this show gathers video, photography and objects of the last 15 years and debuts Ten-and-a-Half Years of To-Dos (2014), a five-channel audio-visual installation.
