We are proud to present the 2013 Charlotte Run for Peace at Home hosted at McAlpine Creek Greenway on May 25, 2013. For nearly 20 years, our goal has been to raise awareness and funds to benefit domestic violence programs in our community.

This is a celebration of our local beer, wine, food, and farms all enhanced by superb music!! There is so much North Carolina has to offer in regards to our beers, wineries, sustainable farms, the restaurants that buy from our farms and of course the great music that helps that NC beer, wine and food go down so well! This festival is to not only showcase that, but to bring awareness to what it is we have here!!

The festival kicks off with five and eight mile long trail races. There will also be live music by Marc Broussard, Bonerama and Jesse Dee, from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. The shenanigans finish off with a fireworks show. Free admission ($5 parking)
U.S. National Whitewater Center's Micro Brews Cruise series features a guided flatwater kayaking trip across the Catawba River to Hawk Island, where a fireside dinner and beer tasting (a different brewery each week) follows. $55
N.C. Wildlife Federation's seven-mile paddle across a stretch of the Catawba River raises money for natural resource conservation. All participants and volunteers will receive a T-shirt, lunch and a special wildlife gift. There will also be prizes and giveaways. For more information or to register, visit www.ncwf.org/canoe.

The festival will feature beers on tap from eight local breweries, including Birdsong Brewing Company, Four Friends Brewing, Heist Brewery, Hops Grill & Brewery, NoDa Brewing Company, The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, Rock Bottom Brewery and Triple C Brewing Co. Ticket fee covers entrance into the festival, plus one 12-ounce beer and six 3-ounce samples. Additional tickets can be purchased for more samples. Food can be purchased separately from some of the breweries, as well as food trucks. Live music from Pocket Full of Strange at 1:30 p.m., and at 5 p.m. Josh Daniel and Friends and Ancient Cities of The New Familiars will take over. The 6th annual Fanta Festival is a FREE, family friendly celebration of Mexican culture. The festival features internationally known and local Regional Mexican music acts, traditional folkloric dancing, tasty authentic foods, a marketplace full of assorted cultural goods, a free soccer clinic for children 6 – 12 years old, the McDonald’s Kid Zone, the Coca-Cola Fun Zone, a non-profit and small business area, and loads of interactive games for the whole family to enjoy.

U.S. National Whitewater Center’s craft beer festival. In addition to craft beer tastings, the event will include live music and a Brew Dash 6K that winds through the center’s trail system. For $5, you can purchase a craft beer card that gets you four beer samples per card (non-samplers can enter for free and listen to the bands). The Brew Dash is $27. Brew Dash begins at 11 a.m., beer tastings from 1 p.m.-6 p.m.; live music throughout the day (Railroad Earth goes on at 8 p.m.).
Enjoy sampling various American craft beers at the 2nd annual Brew Stash Bash on Saturday, June 15th. This event provides an opportunity to both taste and learn about our favorite craft brews while enjoying live music performances. The festivities will kick off at 11 a.m. with the Brew Dash, a 6K that winds throughout the USNWC trail system.

The Garden will feature more than plants during this exciting event, during which you will have a chance to get even closer to the wild side of nature. Haywood County Arts Council presents International Festival Day one week earlier this year on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in Downtown Waynesville, North Carolina.
