The Charlotte Roller Girls are kicking off roller derby in the queen city for the 2017 season! Don't miss our hard-hitting season opener on March 4 at the Grady Cole Center. Doors open at 4:30pm and the first bout of this double header starts at 5pm. Presented by NoDa Brewing Company, your Charlotte Roller Girls All-Stars will be taking on Tallahassee RollerGirls and B-Dazzlers will be taking on Carolina Rollergirls. ' A Sign Of The Times of the Carolinas Annual Black History Production , "A Tree Without Roots" features the world renown African American Dance Ensemble founded by Dr. Chuck Davis. The theme is based on a quote by Marcus Moriah Garvey, "a people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots." The production theme is expressed through the sounds of Jazz, R&B music and the authentic African Dance and drumming of the African American Dance Ensemble.
