In 1998 the Interfaith Pilgrimage made its way into Charlotte. The group consisted of the young and the old from various ethnic and religious backgrounds. They were recreating the "Middle Passage" Slave trade routes from Europe, Africa, South America and the United States. Their goal was to locate sites that were part of the Slave trade and to pray for racial healing and atonement for the past institution of Slavery. $13-$30
Designed for students with previous experience. This class will provide a variety of handbuilding and throwing techniques for achieving large-scale and abstract forms. Students will work with stoneware. Glazing and firing considerations will be presented. $298.00
The focus of this class will be on interpretation of form and perception using clay as the vehicle to express ideas, gestures and concepts. Letting your voice and the clay speak through initial study in a precise form while letting your subconscious lead you in new directions. This class will focus on releasing your inner intentions as well as various firing techniques and hot and cold finishes. $298.00
Advanced wheel class is designed for students who have good throwing skills and need space and time to work. Critiques will be an integral part of class. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace. The instructor will provide appropriate demonstrations for all students in the class. The class will work primarily with cone 10 reduction firing. Surface techniques will be emphasized and expanded upon. $298.00
