Chef and partner Jim Alexander's cooking is classical and luxurious, and the wine list is deep. Although located in an office building, the pine paneling and fireplace give it an intimate feel.
Small family-owned, counter-service sandwich shop uses quality ingredients with a keen sense of balance and flavor. The menu is filled with shish tawook, kabob, shawarma, and falafel sandwiches. Try the Zaatar starter.
Worthy of note is the three-hour slow-cooked meat sauce and the spicy spaghetti arribbiatta. The oddity (speaking as a former resident of the Manhattan area) is the open flame thin-crust grilled pizza. But, no worries. They serve regular pliable crust pizzas, too.
