Upcoming: Pet Palooza

OK, maybe this isn't directly shopping-related, but there's going to be a doggie fashion show!
Pet Palooza is the annual fundraiser for the Humane Society of Charlotte. It’s a fest you can actually take your dog out to, featuring a vendor fair, music entertainment, refreshments, a fido fashion show (that’s right, dogs will show off their best attire), a silent auction and more. Be prepared for some ultimate tail wagging. Parking for the event is available at Elizabeth Traditional Elementary School, 1601 Park Dr.; King’s College, 322 Lamar Ave.; St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 1510 E. 7th St.; Memorial Stadium/CPCC, Lots 7 and 8 only; Lots accessed by Lamar Avenue, Park Drive, and 5th Street, N. Kings Drive, 7th Street and Charlottetowne Avenue. Rain date is June 6. Free. 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Independence Park, 300 Hawthorne Lane. 704-494-7704.
