Sales Sidewalk Sample Sale at Lotus this weekend

Lotus is having a Sidewalk Sample Sale this weekend. Everything will be under $50: $20 tops and bottoms, $40 dresses. And maybe you'll find some pieces from last week's Lotus in Wonderland fashion show at Butter. Maybe? Ahh, who knows, but here are some photos to drool over anyway! Gotta love these looks!

Features Bright colors at Catwalk for a Cause

I love color. I love the way a bright fuchsia dress can make you stand out in the crowd. I love the way accents of yellow can add life to a black and white print dress. It's a simple concept, wearing bright colors to brighten your existence, but many people are just too comfortable in neutrals. I can understand though ... dark colors make us feel safe, just another person blending in with the crowd.
But bright colors and intricate accents were both major players in last night's fashion show at the Catwalk for a Cause, an event benefiting the Martin Truex Jr. Foundation, held at the River Run Country Club. Proceeds from the silent auction and raffle also went toward the foundation, which plans to use the money to supply backpacks for children in need. (On a side note, the items up for raffle and auction were REALLY great items — think designer samples, gift certificates, beauty products, jewelry— props to all the sponsors who donated!)
The outfits from the runway were courtesy of Lavendar Boutique, Bella Ropa and Dot's Women's Wear. Here are some shots.

Events Upcoming: Sex and the City 2 movie preview/benefit party

I suppose it's only fitting that I mention SOMETHING about the Sex and the City 2 movie coming out next week ... but frankly, all of the different SATC-related events I've seen advertised on other blogs have worn me out.
And honestly, the movie doesn't look THAT fabulous. Aiden back in the picture? What?
But here's an event coming up that I don't mind promoting — it's for a good cause.
Organizer Bruna Oliveira and her team bring you faithful Sex and the City followers a movie preview event you don't want to miss out on at Birkdale Village; it bene?ts the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Here are the deets:
Wednesday’s sneak peek event will be extravagant and decadent, packed with food, fun, fashion, cocktails, swag bags and of course “Sex and the City 2,” which attendees will see before everyone else (the ?lm opens nationally on Thursday, May 27).Each $100 ticket includes admission to a pre-show cocktail party at Dressler’s Restaurant, 8630-1A Lindholm Drive, Huntersville, complete with cocktails and delicious food, followed by a private screening of the ?lm at Regal Birkdale Stadium 16.
Along the way, there will be belly dancing lessons, camels (or is it a mirage?) and a best shoe contest, in which the winner will take home a pair of Carrie’s favorite kicks. And don’t miss the fantastic silent auction jammed with prizes from local spas, restaurants and boutiques.
The simply fabulous night wraps up with a post-screening champagne and dessert party at Dressler’s Restaurant. The 2008 event sold out quickly, and this event is expected to as well.
Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance. Attendees must be 21 or older.

Events Upcoming: Lotus in Wonderland Fashion Show

"From bandage bustiers to Alice in Wonderland bloom-inspired treasures, spring fashion has taken a twist."
The women's boutique Lotus is putting on a spring fashion show this Thursday at Butter. Have you seen the inside of Butter yet? With Lotus' fabulous fashion picks and the sophisticated decor of Butter's interior, this promises to be an aesthetic explosion of eye candy. Show starts at 9:30. There will be a $5 door fee, with part of the proceeds going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Charity.
Here's a photo of a recent arrival at the boutique. Will we see this ruffly gem? I hope so!
