If there's one thing Style Night Out 2012 accomplished last Thursday night, it was to make me want to go shopping. Bad.
The third annual event took place at Morrison in SouthPark, featuring the fall fashions of more than 30 independently owned boutiques, with models styled by Charlotte makeup artists and salons.
As I sat in my chair, gazing at the various trends (Side note: Faux fur vests? Not for me, but they were all over the runway. I did enjoy the sparkly New Year's Eve gear, though.) I couldn't help but feel a little proud of Charlotte. Our city isn't exactly a destination location in the South for shopping, but here's an event that makes you think twice about that statement. Congratulations to organizer Effie Loukas and her team for a job well done.
Check out this quick video and slideshow I put together of some of my favorite looks from the runway. In other words: Friends and family, these are pieces you can pick up for my upcoming birthday.
T. Strong returns with another episode of All About Style. This week, she chats about the recent summer trend of pleated skirts. Do you have one in your closet?
If you were driving by the Extravaganza Depot on North Tryon Street Saturday night, you probably heard the loud screams of exhilaration. Sorry about that. Me and my fellow attendees of Brief: A Fete for Fashion could hardly contain ourselves.
Sure, the men who sauntered 85 percent naked down the runway at this men's underwear fashion show were sexy. And yes, I might have lost my composure for a moment and salivated over the toned, ripped bodies of these gorgeous men. But hey: I was not alone. And more importantly, the event was for a good cause, raising money for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Regional AIDS Interfaith Network.
Some quick snapshots.
A humble VIDEO of some highlights.
And a slideshow.

Nationally renowned menswear designer Joseph Abboud made a stop at Belk SouthPark yesterday to launch his new menswear line, "Black Brown 1826." Of course CL was there to catch all the action.
Guests were able to meet and chat with Abboud about the collection while enjoying a cigar rolling demo, beer tastings by The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery and the chance to win prizes, like the chance to drive a Hendricks convertible BMW for a weekend, a golf trip for two to Pinehurst and a $500 Black Brown 1826 wardrobe.
The exclusive collection of Joseph Abboud's Black Brown 1826, men's casualwear can be found in 61 Belk stores and on Belk.com.
