CMPD warns you not to buy stolen appliances

Posted By on Tue, Jul 22, 2008 at 9:09 AM

A robber made a big haul, so those cheap kitchen appliances that someone is selling out of his or her trunk could be hot.

Here's what CMPD says:

On July 14th 2008, Metro Division officers responded to a larceny from vehicle at 401 Enterprise Dr.  The reporting person advised that sometime between July 11th, 2008 and July 14th, 2008 a tractor trailer, which contained several household appliances was stolen from the business.  The tractor trailer contained several GE Dishwashers, Stoves, Microwaves, Refrigerators, and Robie Power Tools. The tractor trailer was recovered a short time later after the initial theft; however, all of the appliances were missing.  Fortunately, the business was able to provide the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department with the brands and serial numbers of all of the stolen merchandise.

At this time, officers have very limited suspect description and are asking if anyone has any information about this theft that may be helpful to please call Crime Stoppers at 704.334.1600.

Also, please be mindful if someone tries to sell you any of these items that you suspect could be stolen to please call Crime Stoppers as well.
