The real farmers markets

Posted by Priscilla Tsai on Wed, Oct 15, 2008 at 9:28 AM

According to Slow Food Charlotte, some of the produce we buy at our local farmers markets in Charlotte are not really farmed in the area -- fruits and vegetables sold by these "farmers" can be from California, Chile and beyond. If you are looking for the real deal, check out Slow Food Charlotte's list of local farms. I'm not a "granola" type person, but hey, I'm all for cooking with fresh foods and supporting local farmers.
