PJ's Coffee & Lounge

Posted by Priscilla Tsai on Fri, Oct 17, 2008 at 10:28 AM

Another EpiCentre tenant has opened its doors. This time it's a "casual urban chic" lounge. PJ's Coffee & Lounge, located in the alleyway past the escalators of the EpiCentre, serves up breakfast, lunch, and dinner tapas as well as coffees and amazing mixed drinks.

The owners Paula and Don Baker hope that the lounge becomes an all-day hang out spot for people -- where folks can grab morning coffee, work on their laptop in the afternoon (they have free wi-fi), meet up with friends after work for a martini and also dance into the night. They are open at 6:30 am and stay open as late as 2 am on certain days. Last night I got a sneak peek of the lounge. The restaurant is trendy with cozy nooks of leather sofas, flat screen tvs and a sleek island bar down the middle. The lighted backdrop of the bar area casts an electric blue-haze over the place.

Many of the mixed drinks have fresh fruit muddled in. They taste so fresh and fruity, I am counting these drinks as part of my daily intake of 5 fruits and vegetables! The Raspberry Mojito I tried last night was extremely delicious and beautiful with fresh raspberries used as garnish. I could really taste the raspberry pieces in my drink.

Once the surrounding area of the EpiCentre gets finished, PJ's will offer outdoor seating.
