Daily success

Posted by Cheris Hodges on Thu, Nov 6, 2008 at 7:36 PM

It’s been a tough year for newspapers. Then Sen. Barack Obama became president elect and you couldn’t find a newspaper anywhere.

The Charlotte Observer was sold out yesterday and had to run a second printing. It was the same story across the country.

For a change, the black man on the front page wasn’t a killer, athlete, rapist or singer. He’s the next president of the United States. I’m not saying the black man single-handedly saved the daily papers, but he came pretty close.

Too bad Creative Loafing is a weekly! Damn!

Why would you wish Creative Loafing was a daily? You're a FREE publication. Plus, doesn't your parent company owe the company that prints CL-Charlotte nearly a $100K?

I think she means so CL could put Obama on the cover ... the paper was done a few days before the election results came in ...
