Kyle Gallner in future horror flick

According to Paste Magazine, actor Kyle Gallner will play a role in the upcoming remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Read more in the article below.

Kyle Gallner, the co-star of The Haunting in Connecticut and CW series Smallville and Veronica Mars, has signed on to play a key teen role in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Earlier this month, producers also confirmed widespread fan rumors that Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) would play Freddy Krueger.

Gallner has been dusted off lately as a low-maintenance version of Shia LaBeouf. Later this year he’ll also appear in Jennifer’s Body, the possessed-cheerleader farce penned by Diablo Cody.

Platinum Dunes, the production company behind recent remakes like Friday the 13th, has hired former music-video director Samuel Bayer to helm the new movie. The producers have promised a darker take on Freddy Krueger, insofar as a movie about a disfigured child molester with knives for fingers can get darker.
