Wal-Mart loses N.C. appeal

Wonder what this will mean for the big-box store's N.C. operations? Hopefully they won't take the $30 million out of consumers' pockets with rolled back roll-backs.

The N.C. Court of Appeals has denied Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s attempt to win $30 million in tax refunds from the state.

According to court documents, Wal-Mart argued that Hinton had incorrectly combined three Wal-Mart-related business entities to determine the amount of taxes that were owed.

But the appeals court rejected Wal-Mart’s arguments in a unanimous decision for the state.
