Charlotte Symphony pops

Posted by Anita Overcash on Mon, Jun 29, 2009 at 1:53 PM

Last night the Charlotte Symphony held another one of its special Summer Pops concerts at Symphony Park at SouthPark Mall. The event was dubbed “That’s Amore!” and featured a variety of mostly Italian-themed selections. Highlights included "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh," and "The Pink Panther Theme."

If you're in town this week, be sure to pack a picnic, blankets and chairs and head to the Charlotte Symphony's final 2009 Summer Pops, titled "Celebrate America," at Symphony Park on July 3. Read a description of the event from Charlotte Symphony's Website below.

The summer season ends with a bang on July 3 at the Symphony’s most popular concert of the year, the annual “Celebrate America.”   Albert-George Schram leads the orchestra in patriotic favorites, including “America the Beautiful,” “Armed Forces Salute,” Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture,” and Sousa’s “Liberty Bell March.”  The concert culminates in an impressive array of fireworks.
