Trace of Tryon captures unique views

Posted by Anita Overcash on Tue, Aug 4, 2009 at 9:50 AM

Folks are invited to come out to McColl Center for Visual Art for Trace of Tryon, a community art project, started by McColl Center for Visual Art's affiliate artist, Rebecca Aloisio and Charlotte artist, Emily Dallmeyer. The projects goal is to present Charlotte, more specifically Tryon Street, visually through tracings. That's where fellow Charlotteans came in. Folks who live, work or go to school on the street, or just frequently end up there for shopping, shows, etc., were invited to participate in the event by tracing their own unique view to be part of the collection.

The finished tracings for Trace of Tryon will be on display at McColl Center for Visual Arts' Open Studio Saturday on August 8, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Whether you participated in this special project or not, it's worth checking out.
