Whose on first?

Atlanta and Charlotte have two of the most hotly contested mayoral races in the country, but nobody's paying attention. Too bad, because the role that race is playing in the outcome is major. While many people believe that the country has changed with the election of a Black president, some like me suggest that there may be a backlash, meted out on the local level. Let's see what happens.
