Fishy behavior at McGlohon Theatre

The holidays are in full swing, and things are starting to smell fishy. You can thank Carolina Actors Studio Theatre for that, as the local theater company reels in performances (for the fourth year in a row) of A Tuna Christmas. This funky, far-fetched play — written by Joe Sears, Jason William and Ed Howard — is set in a fictional city in the Lone Star State of Texas, and follows a series of holiday-related chaotic events, from gone-wrong performances of A Christmas Carol and a sabotaged Christmas yard-decorating contest to the invasion of aliens (the kind from outer space ... not across the border). But, to top off all the craziness, the 22 characters in this production are played by only two actors. Now that’s enough to have you feeling like a fish out of water. Tickets are $22-$27. Show dates/times are as followed: Dec. 3-4, 8 p.m.; Dec. 5, 3 p.m. & 8 p.m.; Dec. 6, 3 p.m.; Dec. 9-11, 8 p.m.; Dec. 12, 3 p.m. & 8 p.m.; Dec. 13, 3 p.m. McGlohon Theatre is located at 345 N. College St. For more information or tickets, call 704-372-1000 or click here.
