Woman's ex-boyfriend posts her nude pics online, demands $5K

Holy crap! Can you imagine waking up one day to an e-mail or Facebook wall post pointing you to naked pictures of yourself?

A former boyfriend of Dawn Putnam posted nude photographs of the 35-year-old woman online, demanding $5,000 for him to take them off the Internet, according to arrest warrants.

Instead of paying up, she called the cops.

Putnam still has her money, and the former boyfriend, Alan Douglas Westmoreland, was booked into Gaston County Jail on Wednesday under a $10,000 bond on an extortion charge.

“I feel like a whore,” Putnam said Wednesday from her apartment off of Union Road. “I hate to say that, but it makes you feel like scum knowing someone’s taken pictures of you like that.”

Putnam told police Westmoreland sent her a crass blackmail attempt through the online social networking site Tagged.com on Monday. She reported the incident within a few hours.

“Message: you want your video and pix???? cost you 5000$ or everyone will get it on top of everyone on your frinds (sic) list on here and my space! IM NOT JOKING!!!!” stated one message.

Another profanity-laced message threatened to send the photos to Putnam’s teenage daughter. A message also threatens to post a sex video, although Putnam said she does not believe such a video exists.
