I stayed up late to see Cornell West on The Colbert Report. I don't usually watch that show, but I like West and wanted to see how he interacted with Colbert, a comedian who lampoons cable pundits nightly on Comedy Central.
While I enjoyed West's interview, it was Colbert's skewering of Sarah Palin's media persona as well as the the dismantling his cohort, Jon Stewart, did on The Daily Show that kept me glued to the screen.
Well done, gentlemen. Thanks for reminding us all that this lady who wasn't elected to be our vice president, who quit on her state, who has her own reality TV show, who gets more media coverage than anyone else who's ever lost the bid for national office is the mainstream media.
