On Q production honors jazz legends

It's the galvanizing energy of Miles Davis' ground breaking quintets in the 1950s that On Q Productions strives to capture in its Miles & Coltrane: Blue(.). An element of time when trumpet-blaring Davis and skillful saxophonist John Coltrane partnered to make a wondrous residual slide in soundscapes that would unleash their names to be forever known as jazz legends. For the production, On Q has rallied local poets, musicians, dancers and actors to articulate the noteworthy shifts in music history. $22. March 2-3, 3 & 8 p.m. Duke Energy Theatre, 345 N.
