Saturday dysfunctions

Posted By on Sat, Aug 18, 2012 at 9:00 AM

Charlotte's The Dysfunctional Figurines has had its share of praise from local critics who've found its performances quite satisfactory in at least one critical way: they're funny. The troupe's latest show, "Fetch-A-Sketch," stars creator, writer and performer Tom Olson, along with longtime members James Walker II, Glynnis O'Donoghue, Gayle Taggart and newcomer Jennifer Jamsky.

Together, the group members recall random topics — from healthy strippers to a super hero called "The Blackenator" — that amuse them (and hopefully, you too). As you'd expect from a dysfunctional bunch, the show is powdered with adult language and content. $15. Aug. 18, 8 p.m. & 10 p.m., Aug. 24-25, 8 p.m. & 10 p.m. Carolina Actors Studio Theatre, 2424 N. Davidson St. 704-455-8542.
