Carolina Rebellion music festival announces 2013 lineup

The third annual Carolina Rebellion rock music festival announced its lineup this morning, featuring 16 bands each day including Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Rise Against and Deftones. Taking place on May 4-5, 2013, the two-day event will be held at the Rock City Campgrounds at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C.

The event started in 2011 as a one-day show at Charlotte's Metrolina Fairgrounds featuring 19 bands including Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, Stone Sour and Seether. Last year, it moved to Rockingham Speedway, featured 17 bands and was headlined by Shinedown, Korn and Evanescence.

Carolina Rebellion is produced by AEG Live, the same company which puts on festivals around the country including Coachella, Rock on the Range, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Stagecoach and Rocklahoma.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. They'll be $89 for both days; $59.50 for one day. Camping and VIP packages will also be available.
