First Drip (3/13/14): Airport cancels solar plan, drunk driver kills two at SXSW, more

The wrong kind of green prevails again: Charlotte-Douglas Airport has "quietly" canceled its solar plan - which would have been one of the biggest solar-power projects in North Carolina - for fear it would interfere with expansion plans. Adding solar panels to parking lots could have also threatened tax-exempt bonds used to pay for airport parking projects, says Deputy Interim Aviation Director Jack Christine.

Two people are dead, 23 injured early this morning at South By Southwest after a drunk driver tried to escape a DWI checkpoint and drove down a one-way street the wrong way.

The beloved Steve Smith, who coined the popular phrase "Ice up, son" on social media, will not return to the team next season.
