The N.C. Department of Public Instruction said this week charter schools do not have to disclose teacher salaries like district schools do, despite receiving hundreds of millions of dollars in public funds.
It's tense down there in Union County: Lawmakers have moved to take control over school property from the school board. "Citing problems with the county's Department of Social Services, [School board Chairman Richard] Yercheck wrote, 'Union County has enough problems managing its own operations.
