First Drip (4/10/15): CMPD officer cleared in shooting, more

Posted By on Fri, Apr 10, 2015 at 9:59 AM

CMPD officer Anthony Holzhauer has been cleared of wrongdoing in the shooting death of 20-year-old Jamisha Fonville. Police say Fonville was holding a knife and threatened officers, while her girlfriend Korneisha Banks says Fonville was unarmed. This isn't the first time Holzhauer has been involved in a shooting. "Fonville’s family has said the past cases show CMPD should bring in an independent agency to investigate this time. Like many departments around the country, CMPD investigates shootings involving its officers on its own."

If N.C. Senate Bill 700 gets anywhere, hospitals and other nonprofits could see cuts in their revenue.

Sometimes it's better to just not say anything. The Tri-County Fraternal Order of the Police in South Carolina released a statement last night condemning the shooting death of Walter Scott in North Charleston, but it went on to warn people not to let "professional race agitators to seize this moment to advance their often self-serving opinions of what is wrong in South Carolina."

High noon Sunday, Hillary Clinton will reportedly announce her candidacy for president. Yeehaw.
