Police this morning found the woman who went missing following a shooting in west Charlotte yesterday afternoon. Police believe three men broke into a home on Smallwood Place and Darius Wise. He was taken to CMC with life-threatening injuries. They also announced that they were looking for 27-year-old Tonia Robinson, who they believed to be in the home at the time of the invasion and may have been taken against her will. It's still unclear how they located Robinson. (Fox46) UPDATE: Police have announced the arrest of a man and woman in connection with this case. Marsha Nicole Cook was arrested yesterday and, following an interview, charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony breaking and entering and first-degree kidnapping. Early this morning, the CMPD Violent Criminal Apprehension Team apprehended Larry Mann at a hotel on Sunset Road and charged him with the same charges as Cook.

New Mayor Jennifer Roberts began her term early this morning with a visit to the Solid Waste Services department and a ride-along with Antonio Johnson, a sanitation worker. Following her trash pick-up, during which she participated by picking up bags of leaves, she reportedly went to CMPD's Metro Division headquarters and took another ride-along with a police officer. She has planned activities through 7 p.m., including a grand opening at First Ward Park and stops at Behailu Academy and a domestic violence tree lighting at CMPD's Uptown headquarters. At-large city council member Vi Lyles was named Charlotte's Mayor Pro-Tem at last night's swearing-in ceremony for Mayor Jennifer Roberts and new and returning council members. A quick motion was made to nominate Lyles, and it became clear that some council members had discussed the nomination beforehand. Before the vote could take place, District 6 representative Kenny Smith accused the rest of the council of back-room dealing to put Lyles in place as mayor pro tem and said the new council was starting off on the wrong foot. Traditionally, the leading at-large vote-getter is named mayor pro tem, which in this case would have been Julie Eiselt. Eiselt said she had previously discussed with other council members that she did not wish to be take the position because she is the only council member to have never served before. Lyles was voted in 10 - 1, with Smith being the only opposing vote. (Ryan Pitkin)

A local doctor has been arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting three women during exams this year. After two women reported being assaulted by Dr. Mario Hernandez at his practice on Arrowood Road, another woman reported an assault that allegedly occurred in May. Hernandez voluntarily turned himself in yesterday following an investigation by CMPD's Sexual Assault Unit. Hernandez was released on his own recognizance and is due in court today at 1 p.m. (Elsa Gillis, WSOC)

Yesterday, Donald Trump raised eyebrows by stating…oh forget it. (Ryan Pitkin)
