HOM closed

Posted by Brittney Cason on Mon, Feb 9, 2009 at 1:01 PM

With all these home foreclosures goes HOM – causing Liv, Play and Feast to close.

But was it the economy, Hurricane Funderfurk, the EpiCentre opening... or is that location just cursed? That whole block seems to be capitalistically cursed. I’ve only lived in Charlotte for three years and the various venues have been several different things. Twist... Daddy’s... Menage... HOM.

I’m telling you, someone needs to put a late night diner in that location. If only Feast were a Waffle House and served shittier food, as in greasy diner food that people want to at 2 a.m.

Thoughts? What’s your home sweet home for nightlife?

Stay tuned because I’m putting together an Economic Stimulus Nightlife Package…. we’re all ballin’ on a budget these days.

EpiCentre put it out of business like it's about to do Alley Cat

Well...the landlord is a very very slick lawyer, and the tenant got what was coming to him. what goes around comes around.

I went once and hated it. Any place that plays techno should be shut down

Maybe if they had a sign up it would've helped them stay open. I looked for it forever one night not realizing the sign FEAST meant HOM

To hell with the economy, who needs wanna-be south beach soho warehouse district garbage? I mean, if I wanted to dress in Guess and get loaded on shitty well drinks and listen to craptastic and djs with no taste, then it would be great. Good riddance. Can we close the Forum next?

seems like some people have no idea that variety is the spice of life. hallion sounds like the typical redneck-button up blue striped shirt-kinda guy. and michelle must be one of those stuck in the eighties girls - with the same dance that does not change no matter what the beat is kinda chick that thinks her opinions are the ones that everyone needs to follow because she thinks she knows everything and everyone else knows nothing. please people, to think that a place should be shut down just because YOU don't like it is very republican small minded and narrow thinking. time to grow up and expand your thinking.

Yeah Alley Cat seems to be hurting, when they made Fridays 18 and up, I got a sense that they were scraping the bottom of the barrel :)

Personally, I think more uptown venues should try implementing bottle service like Suite has. When you have a group of 3 or more people, it's a lot less hassel to have a waitress and two bottles at your table than making your way back and forth to a crowded bar. I hope Alley Cat makes it though, I really like the bartenders there.

Real shame, places like that are really popular in other metropolitan cities. Gives a city a European feel also. Not many places where you can sit and relax with friends. Hopefully Charlotte will grow out of its trashy bars and redneck taverns (If that is what you call Whiskey River).
