Jeremy Current launches Kickstarter effort for latest album

Posted By on Wed, Apr 6, 2011 at 11:25 AM

Local musician Jeremy Current started work on his latest album, Dark Land of the Sun, in January of 2011. Like many artists these days, he's trying to raise the money to help cover the costs of getting his record completed.

He sums it up with — Studio time - $3600, Producers - $800, Engineers - $800, Musicians - $515, Travel and Catering - $1200, Mastering - $700, First CD pressing of the album, $2,125.

So, he's trying to raise $6,000 via the Kickstarter.com Web site. The Web site gathers pledges from people — if the goal is met, the money goes to the artist. If the deadline isn't met, the artist gets $0.

Different pledge amounts receive different "prizes" — everything from limited edition items to having the band perform at your house or having Current cook you dinner.

He has 15 more days to raise the money he's looking for. If you'd like to help out, go here.
