Freebies abound in this recent update from the upcoming Lollapalooza festival. For those of you who can't make it to the August festival in Chicago (I am a sad, sad member of that club), some of the featuring artists have songs available through Spinner. The big hitters (My Morning Jacket, Bright Eyes) are here, but there are plenty of lesser known groups (Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and Mountain Goats) in this sampler to keep an eye on.
You've probably heard of Owl City, but did you know that Adam Young, Owl Citys frontman, is also an accomplished photographer?
For this giveaway, you have to rearrange the pieces below to create one of his photos. Once solved, you can enter your e-mail address and be entered to win two tickets to see him live in Charlotte on Friday night. The contest ends on Thursday, so try it out now.
Good luck!
Nikki Sixxs solo project, Sixx A.M. has released a new CD entitled, This is Gonna Hurt. Its the musical companion to Sixxs newest book by the same title, one he wrote without a ghostwriter to document the three years following his book, The Heroin Diaries. Its a collection that is part journal, part photos, part memoir and part social commentary.
You can win a copy of the CD AND book simply by entering a comment below via a valid e-mail address. Let us know if you liked the first book, if you're going to see the Crue this summer at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre or why you'd like to hear the new CD or read the book.

NOTE: In order to win, you must be able to pick up your prize (or send a friend/family member) from the Charlotte Creative Loafing office. These books are heavy, so we can't afford to mail them out... Sorry! It's also a way to give a little love back to our local readers.

They're also going to have performances by Sled at 6:30 p.m. and Secret Hospital at 7:30 p.m.
Then there will be plenty of albums that are on sale especially since the store is selling everything for 15% off and all used items are buy two, get one free.

Ever get your words printed in Creative Loafing?
Are you a big Coheed and Cambria fan and you'd love to go their "Neverender: SSTB" concert at The Fillmore Charlotte on April 18, but you don't have tickets?
Creative Loafing is partnering up Coheed and Cambria to offer a lucky fan the chance to win tickets, a meet and greet with the band AND get your words written in the paper.
How? Instead of telling us why you like the band, we'd like you to write a preview of the show and tell CL readers why they should go. In roughly 75 words, write up a quick paragraph that gets right to the point of why people should be at this show. Don't simply say "they're awesome" or "because they're the best band ever," we're looking for more than that.
Coheed and Cambria will be playing its debut album, The Second Stage Turbine Blade, in full, as well as an acoustic set and an encore set.
The winner, chosen by the band, will have their preview item published in the music section of the April 13-20 edition of Creative Loafing, as well as online at clclt.com. Find out first by picking up a copy in the Charlotte area and then we'll post the winner online on Friday, April 15, if you can wait that long.
Send your entries with your name, age and valid e-mail address to vielarcrom@gmail.com
Good luck!
