40 Fears CL Recommends

When: Thu., March 29, 7 p.m. 2012
Price: Free admission
Cheers are in order for The Light Factory's upcoming test screening of 40 Fears. The movie — produced locally by Dalliance Films and writer-director A. Blaine Miller — stars Charlotte-area actors, including Berry Newkirk, whose performances in local productions of Rope, Southern Baptist Sissies and Trainspotting were impressive. Tim Ross stars as Burt, a man who wants to turn the big 4-0 drama-free. That's unlikely. He's a father of four rebellious teens and husband of a wife who has a Latin lover. Unexpected twists (like a corpse in a party hat) further complicate Burt's milestone event, bringing new meaning to the term "mid-life crisis." The screening is free with one catch: The filmmakers ask audience members to give their feedback in a survey to be distributed after the film.
